Ben Simmons Update

This is just my opinion.

For now both parties are better off together despite not being on the best of terms. That may change as the season progresses. While Ben Simmons has a lucrative 4 years left, I think going to a losing team which has no shot at a title should make him want to stay in Philly. He would have to wait 4 years to get to a team of his choice and still would need to prove himself over that time.

The Sixers should not “give away” Simmons for a low volume transaction. Winning may help heal some of the wounds. When Embiid will sit, it still will be Simmons team combined now with Maxey and Milton. Simmons still has a change to shine in Philly.

A breakup make be the easy way to go but likely hurts both parties !

Prospective on Ben Simmons From a Lifelong Sixers Fan

I have been a Sixers fan since I can remember. I am still waiting for them to win a NBA championship. I understand that they are one of 30 teams and that they should only be expected to win once every 30 years. The closest they came was in 2001 against the Lakers.

Last season was a missed opportunity which may have been our best shot. Would a health Danny Green have been enough to get us over the hump ?

No. I think we needed Ben Simmons to play closer to his regular season numbers and maintain elite defense. I am a fan of Ben Simmons and I think we are at a tipping point. It is possible for him to comeback and produce but there has to be better communication between him and his teammates. He can do it during the off season and to a lesser degree regular season but we need it during the playoffs.

At this point I am afraid that a Ben Simmons trade will make it so we will not be shaped for a title run this year. The minor roster updates are positive. I expect Thybulle to improve his offensive game, I want more shots from Curry, and if Green, Harris, Embiid play healthy I think we are still a force to be dealt with. It will be a very competition eastern conference but Embiid still has no match. Better team shooting and spacing will keep up relevant.

So as of now I say no trade, wait to see how the season goes and consider moving Simmons or Harris at the deadline ? What do you think ?
